Gospel Music’s Biggest Night Returns: 41st Stellar Gospel Music Awards Set for Charlotte

The 41st Stellar Gospel Music Awards will bring together some of the biggest names in gospel music when the annual celebration takes place on August 15, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Known as "Gospel Music's Greatest Night," the event will honor outstanding achievements in gospel music while featuring unforgettable performances and special tributes.Legendary gospel artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard will receive the prestigious Aretha Franklin Icon Award, recognizing her lasting influence on gospel music and worship around the world. With chart-topping songs such as Break Every Chain and For Your Glory, Cobbs Leonard has inspired millions through her powerful ministry and music.

Pastor Mike Jr. will also be honored during the ceremony with the Thomas A. Dorsey Most Notable Achievement Award, celebrating his outstanding contributions to gospel music and his impact as a pastor, artist, and community leader.

The evening will feature an all-star lineup of performers, including Le'Andria Johnson, Kierra Sheard, Jekalyn Carr, Darrel Walls, John P. Kee, Tye Tribbett featuring Ablaze, JustCordell, Lisa Knowles-Smith & The Brown Singers, PJ Morton, and more. The performances are expected to showcase the diversity and excellence of today's gospel music.

Award-winning artist and entertainer Kirk Franklin will host the ceremony and is also scheduled to deliver a special performance, adding even more excitement to one of gospel music's most anticipated events of the year.

Fans who cannot attend in person will be able to watch the celebration when the 41st Stellar Gospel Music Awards premieres on The Stellar Network on Saturday, August 29, at 8:00 p.m. ET (7:00 p.m. CT), with an encore presentation at 10:00 p.m. ET (9:00 p.m. CT). The awards show will also air nationally on BET on Sunday, August 30, at 8:00 p.m. ET (7:00 p.m. CT).
